About the Role

Vision is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Specialist Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Romford. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone committed to supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential.

You will work closely with class teachers and the SEND team to provide tailored support to pupils who require specialist intervention. The role may include supporting children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH needs, speech and language delays, or pupils who benefit from additional academic and emotional support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist 1:1 or small-group support tailored to individual pupil needs.
  • Implement personalised learning programmes and behaviour strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external agencies.
  • Promote emotional regulation, confidence, independence, and positive learning habits.
  • Track and record pupil progress, offering feedback to staff and parents where required.
  • Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN in a primary setting.
  • A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles.
  • Relevant training (Team Teach, Autism Awareness, Speech & Language, etc.) is desirable but not essential.
