Job summary

A leading public service provider is searching for EHC Coordinators to join their teams in Hampshire. This role involves managing the EHC needs assessment process, ensuring that the assessments are thorough and effective for each child. Candidates should possess at least 12 months of experience in a similar role and have a detailed understanding of the statutory framework. This is a full-time, fully remote position with a three-month initial contract. Competitive pay rates apply based on employment type.

Job description
EHC Coordinators (SEN Caseworkers) – Hampshire County Council

We are currently looking for EHC Coordinators to support the PFA and 0–11 years teams.

Contract Details

3‑month contract initially, with a possibility of extension.

Inside IR35. Fully remote. Full‑time hours only – PAYE – £235.
Umbrella / LTD – £307.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Manage the EHC needs assessment process for a set locality.
  • Carry out day‑to‑day casework, ensuring quality, consistency and effective prioritisation of tasks for a set number of cases.
  • Record all processes and decisions accurately on the SEN database and the casework file; keep all relevant parties informed.
  • Ensure that all children have their EHC plans reviewed annually and that transition plans are completed where required.
  • Advise and support parents through the EHC assessment.
  • Attend annual review meetings, case planning meetings and represent the local education authority at school‑based meetings.
Key Qualifications
  • Minimum 12 months experience in a similar LA role, with full‑cycle EHC management experience.
  • Competence in discussing caseloads, statutory processes and experience with >250 caseloads.
  • Experience in tribunals and preparing packs.
  • Experience carrying out 20‑week assessment work.
  • Detailed knowledge of the statutory framework (Children and Families Act 2014, SEN Regulations 2014, SEN code of practice) and Hampshire County Council policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the wider education system, including maintained school services and social care.
  • Ability to recommend improvements to processes and procedures that enhance team and service efficiency.
