Overview

Are you an Accounts Assistant, Accounts Semi Senior or Trainee Accountant looking to join a niche West End practice that specialises in high profile Creative, Media, Entertainment, Theatre, Fashion, Film & TV and Art Gallery clients? The firm offers a relaxed, informal office environment, strong sociable culture and good work‑life balance. A new Trainee Accountant, Accounts Assistant or Accounts Semi Senior position is available (September 2025) in a newly created role where you will start with bookkeeping and VAT assignments, and after 6 months you will begin training to prepare Ltd company statutory accounts, corporation and personal tax returns for London‑based clients. You will primarily use cloud software such as Sage One, Xero and CCH for accounts production, in a hybrid setup (4 days in the office, 1 day from home).

Responsibilities
  • Initially focus on bookkeeping and VAT assignments.
  • After approximately 6 months, train to prepare Ltd company statutory accounts, corporation tax returns and personal tax returns for a range of high‑profile clients.
  • Assist with accounts production using cloud software (Sage One, Xero, CCH).
  • Support a London‑based practice servicing clients in Creative, Media, Entertainment, Theatre, Fashion, Film & TV and Art Gallery sectors.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • At least 18 months experience (ideally 18 months to 3 years) in an accountancy firm with a mixed and varied role including bookkeeping and VAT returns.
  • Experience in accounts preparation and tax returns is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Likely studying for a professional qualification (AAT or ACCA); full study support offered after a 3‑month probation period.
  • Excellent communication skills, self‑starter attitude, able to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Interest in working in a niche West End practice with high profile clients and a non‑corporate atmosphere.
