GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Dinnington, S25. As an SEMH TA, you will provide tailored support to students, helping them navigate social and emotional challenges while achieving academic success in a positive, nurturing classroom environment.

Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
• Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour and promote emotional regulation.
• Build trusting relationships with students, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
• Support teachers in creating an environment where students feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic student support.

Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:

• Experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage challenging behaviour with patience.
• A compassionate, resilient, and empathetic approach to supporting students.
• A valid, enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps clearly explained.
