A highly-regarded primary school Devizes is searching for an SEMH Teaching Assistant to be employed on an immediate and long-term basis. The SEMH child has an educational, health and care plan (EHCP) that details specific targets, outcomes and strategies for the child. The SEMH Teaching Assistant role demands a dedicated and caring individual who will be patient and take time to understand the specific needs of the SEMH child.
They are looking for an SEMH Teaching Assistant who is charismatic, empathetic and demonstrates a genuine desire to make a positive impact on children with SEMH. Previous experience working with children with Autism is admirable for this SEMH Teaching Assistant position.

This is a tremendous opportunity for obtaining experience within the Special Needs and Mental Health sector, as you will have the chance in your role as an SEMH Teaching Assistant to observe, work alongside and collaborate with speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, occupational therapists and teachers with SEMH specialisms.
The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will need to be fully committed to the child on a long-term basis. The SEMH Teaching Assistant will be working extremely closely with the class teacher and SEMHCO, therefore being provided with specialist and expert support and training that will be vital for your personal development.
Previous experience working with Special Needs desired. Previous experience working with children with Autism is admirable.
Full-Time 8:30am - 3:30pm. Salary £85 - £100 per day.
