Contract Type: Full time, Long-time

Start Date: January 2026

Pay Rate: £85-110 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well‑respectful school in Belper to recruit a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant for a full‑time position, starting January 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Teaching Assistant to contribute to a thriving department and support students across the school. The school is a well‑regarded school in Belper, Derbyshire, known for its inclusive, student‑centered ethos focused on helping students "Be who they are & become who they aspire to be".

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing individual and small group support: Assisting pupils with learning activities, providing one‑to‑one support, and implementing differentiated learning plans.
  • Creating and maintaining a supportive learning environment: Contributing to a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, ensuring the safety and well‑being of pupils.
  • Communicating effectively: Maintaining regular communication with teachers, parents/carers, and other professionals regarding pupil progress and well‑being.
  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs: Implementing strategies to support pupils' social and emotional development and manage challenging behaviour.
  • Assisting with practical tasks: Supporting pupils with personal care needs, preparing learning materials, and maintaining classroom resources.
  • Contributing to the wider school community: Participating in school events and activities and contributing to the overall well‑being of the school.
