About the Role

Connex Education is seeking an exceptional and passionate SEMH Teacher to join a dedicated team. As a SEMH Teacher, you’ll work in an engaging environment supporting both academic development and social‑emotional growth, helping students become respectful community members. The role requires a hardworking, resilient educator committed to making a positive impact on vulnerable children’s lives through personalised learning approaches.

Assignment Details

Full‑time position starting January 2026 providing academic support to students in a pupil referral unit. Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8:30am‑4pm.

Essential requirement: comfort and experience working with young people who have varied special educational needs, particularly SEND/SEMH. The role demands expertise in supporting vulnerable students with diverse learning challenges through individualised teaching approaches.

As a successful SEND Teacher with Connex Education Partnership, you will possess
  • Hold a QTS Qualification
  • Have experience working with individuals with SEN
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Confident in your behaviour management skills
  • Calm, resilient and able to communicate well with young people
  • Hold a current DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one through Connex
  • Be able to show proof of work in the UK
  • Willing to travel between schools to provide onsite teaching support if needed
