Overview

TeacherActive is proud to be working with schools that support vulnerable children with SEMH needs, which vary from Challenging Behaviour, Bi-Polar disorder/ Mood swings to MLD. The school we work with is looking for a SEN Home Tutor for a child in year 10 (with an EHCP) located in Hinckley. As a SEMH Teacher/Instructor/Tutor you will be working in a residential setting with students that have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). You will plan, prep and deliver material to the student and provide support in their GCSEs. You will regularly create reports and monitor the student’s learning and behaviour on a weekly basis.

The role offers opportunities to grow as a teacher while being paid at market-leading rates. We have experienced and dedicated SEND Consultants helping to place you according to your availability, preference and skills.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prep and deliver lesson material tailored to the student’s needs.
  • Monitor and report on the student’s learning and behaviour on a weekly basis.
  • Deliver GCSE support and adapt tasks to meet individual needs.
  • Provide effective behaviour management and maintain positive student engagement.
  • Communicate effectively with internal staff and the SEND team.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • At least 6 months of SEND/SEMH experience.
  • Flexible and able to cover classes at short notice due to staff sickness or training.
  • Ability to plan own lesson activities and resources in addition to pre-planned lessons.
  • Strong ability to adapt tasks to individual learners’ needs.
