• Strong subject knowledge and a thorough understanding of the Secondary Curriculum.
• Confident, professional classroom management skills.
• A sound understanding of safeguarding procedures and the responsibility to act decisively.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, curriculum-aligned lessons.
• Support students across KS3-KS4, and KS5 where appropriate.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour.
• Monitor student wellbeing and report safeguarding concerns.
• Complete key admin tasks such as registers.

A day in the life

• Deliver high‑quality, curriculum‑aligned lessons (plans provided or adapted with flair)
• Support students across KS3‑KS4, and KS5 where appropriate
• Maintain high standards of behaviour, using fair, consistent strategies
• Monitor student wellbeing and immediately report any safeguarding concerns
• Complete key admin such as registers and handover notes—so the class teacher can return smoothly
• Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure a safe, supportive environment for every student
