Overview

Science Technician required for a secondary school in Tameside. Start: ASAP. Full academic year with strong possibility of permanent appointment for the right candidate. This is a full-time role supporting the Science Department across all key stages.


Your Role Will Include


  • Preparing and setting up apparatus for practical science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)

  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised laboratory environment

  • Supporting teaching staff with demonstrations and technical advice

  • Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment

  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards (COSHH, CLEAPSS guidelines)


About You


  • Previous experience as a science technician in a school setting is ideal, but not essential

  • Science graduates with lab-based experience will also be considered

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Aspire People
