Overview

Job Title: Science Teacher (Special Educational Needs). Location: Harrow. Contract: Full-time, Permanent. Salary: Competitive - dependent on experience. Start Date: Immediate start available. Interviews: This week.

We are seeking a passionate and committed Science Teacher to join our dedicated team at a special needs school in Harrow, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

Science Teacher Responsibilities

• Teaching KS3 and KS4 science at entry level, adapted to meet the needs of learners with SEN.
• Delivering creative, engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and support progress in line with individual Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Working closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team to help students thrive both academically and personally.

At this special needs school, the Sixth Form curriculum is ambitious, student-centred, and designed to prepare young people for adulthood. Personalised learning to focus on individual outcomes, offering qualifications in English, Maths, ASDAN and AQA unit awards, as well as opportunities for work experience, life skills training, and community engagement.

With an aim is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and independence they need for their next steps in education, employment, and life.

Science Teacher Requirements

• QTS/QTLS with the ability to teach science.
• Understanding of, or enthusiasm to develop, SEN teaching strategies.
