Position: Science Technician

Line Manager: Head of Science

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks, plus 1 week) 8AM to 4PM

Salary Banding: Band 2 Vocational, Teaching and Learning

Job Purpose

• Work as a member of the technician team, ensuring that the necessary support, administrative and technical services, and relevant advice is provided to science teaching staff.
• Work as a member of the technician team to ensure that the support provided by the technician team facilitates the delivery of teaching and learning in all Science subjects is of the highest possible quality.
• Work as a member of the technician team to ensure the technician team provides high quality organisational support to the department, keeping up to date with developments relevant to the role.
• Work as a member of the technician team in setting up and maintaining effective systems and structures for the administration of the Science department.
• take account of and fulfil the requirements of whole Academy policy and practice.

All duties associated with this role require the highest standard of professionalism at all times in terms of manner, conduct and appearance. This role also demands high levels of literacy competency as all written communication must be in Standard English.
