About the Role

Job title: School Youth Worker – Secondary School (Full-Time, Long-Term)

Location: Salford

Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

Salary: £100 – £115 per day (dependent on experience)

What We’re Looking For

Forever Teaching is seeking a dedicated and empathetic School Youth Worker to join a Secondary School in Salford. This is a full-time, long-term position supporting young people who experience barriers to learning, within the school’s onsite provision. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who may face social, emotional, or behavioural challenges, helping them re-engage with education and build positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with barriers to learning, helping them develop confidence, motivation, and resilience
  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement behaviour and learning support strategies
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students through consistent and supportive interactions
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Provide 1:1 or small-group support tailored to individual needs
  • Promote inclusion and engagement within the school setting
Qualifications & What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience working with young people in a school, youth work, or support environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach
  • Ability to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and professionally
  • A genuine passion for making a difference in young people’s lives
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
