This role sits within the Banking Risk Consulting department of Forvis Mazars' Advisory and Consulting service line. The primary responsibility is supporting the team in delivering projects by executing fieldwork, preparing deliverables, and contributing to final recommendations. The role also supports other project lifecycle activities – known as "Business Development" – such as research, slide‑deck preparation, proofreading, and occasionally presenting directly to a client or prospect. We operate a hybrid model, so you will split your time between working from home, visiting the office, or client sites as required.
Year‑by‑Year Progression
- During the first year:
- Provide support to managers and supervisors on projects across various client types and service offerings.
- Develop a strong understanding of consulting methods and financial services regulation.
- Interact with clients' staff and build an effective rapport.
- Work within a team to ideate and develop new data‑driven solutions to solve critical business challenges.
- During the second year:
- Take on more responsibilities on projects.
- Self‑review your own work, ensuring minimal review points are raised by managers.
- Provide guidance to less experienced team members.
- After two years:
- Start specialising in particular areas of regulation and risk management.
- Take on more responsibility for developing service lines and the business.
- Take greater responsibility for project planning and owning project deliverables.
- Demonstrate foundational project management capabilities.
Typical Daily Duties
- Learn about and develop expertise in risk management and prudential regulations through classroom courses, on‑job training, and personal research.
- Research, synthesize and present information and statistics on regulatory topics as required.
- Develop and demonstrate the ability to "tell a story" through writing.
- Draft client‑specific conclusions and recommendations based on research.
- Be entrepreneurial in considering the impact of evolving financial services regulations on clients.
- Develop professional working relationships with clients and colleagues throughout fieldwork and social activities.
- Support sales and business development processes by assisting in proposal preparation for new work.
- Assist in running workshops and conferences with clients.
- Assist in writing publications for internal and external audiences on relevant topics.
- Contribute to and participate in all business development activities.
