A renowned sports organization in Liverpool is seeking a School Football and Tournaments Coordinator to join its foundation team. This role focuses on planning and delivering inclusive sports events and competitions for schools, ensuring engagement from all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The successful candidate will demonstrate proven experience in sports event management and a strong commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion. We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our LFC Foundation team as a School Football and Tournaments Coordinator. This role focuses on delivering inclusive, high-quality sports events and school competitions, ensuring all pupils, including those with SEN, are supported and engaged. You’ll also lead accessible grassroots activities during holiday periods and work collaboratively across the LFC Foundation to design impactful, cross‑departmental events that align with organisational priorities and enhance young people’s overall experience.
To be successful in this role, you will bring proven experience in planning, delivering and evaluating school or community sports events, including tournaments and festivals. Alongside a strong understanding of football and a range of other sports, you’ll be able to design inclusive and engaging formats suitable for primary and secondary school pupils. You will have experience delivering inclusive provision, with the ability to adapt activities to meet the needs of children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Collaboration will be essential, requiring you to work effectively across departments and with partner organisations to achieve shared objectives. You’ll also have experience building and maintaining strong relationships with schools, teachers and wider community stakeholders to ensure high‑quality engagement. A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles within school and community sport settings is also crucial. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important, enabling you to engage and motivate a diverse range of audiences including children, school staff and external partners. You’ll be highly organised, confident in managing multiple events and priorities, able to collect, analyse and report data to demonstrate impact and support continuous improvement. You should also be proficient in Microsoft Office and digital tools used for planning, communication and evaluation. A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion is essential, along with a passion for removing barriers to participation. You’ll need to be flexible in your working approach, willing to work evenings, weekends and during school holidays when required. Finally, you will be willing to travel independently to support delivery across the Liverpool City Region.
This is a Fixed‑Term Contract opportunity for a period of 12 months, working 35 hours per week on a 5‑from‑7 days basis including some weekends when required. Your main base will be Anfield Sports and Community Centre, with travel across Merseyside and occasional travel within England and Wales.
