Job summary

A mental health services provider is looking for a School Counsellor & Therapist to work across primary and secondary schools in London. Candidates must hold a Level 5 qualification or higher in counselling or therapy and have completed at least 100 clinical hours. The role offers a supportive environment with professional development opportunities. A generous employer pension and health plan are included. Qualifications

Salary

£31,179 to £35,257 based on working five days (35 hours) per week (term‑time)

The salary will be paid pro rata in line with the number of days per week you are contracted to work.

Locations
  • Primary school in Tower Hamlets (E3) – one day per week
  • Primary school in Barnet (HA8) – one day per week
  • Primary school in Tower Hamlets (E1) – one day per week
  • Secondary school in H&F (W12) – one day per week, you will preferably have experience working in an SEN setting or be willing and keen to develop your experience in this field

Varied across London Primary, Secondary, Sixth form schools.

Your qualifications and skills
  • A qualification in counselling, play therapy or a creative arts therapy (we require at least a Level 5 qualification or above)
  • Completed a minimum of 100 clinical hours
  • Experience of working with primary or secondary aged young people (whichever is relevant to the role being applied for)
  • A good understanding of educational settings
  • Current membership of an appropriate professional body (BACP, BAPT, BADth, BAAT, BAMT etc.)
  • Where applicable to your qualification/training, be HCPC registered or professionally accredited (or actively working towards accreditation)
