Overview

School Catering Assistant We are looking for a friendly, reliable and hardworking Catering Assistant to join our busy school kitchen team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals to pupils and staff
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety in line with school and statutory requirements
  • Set up and clear down the dining area before and after service
  • Operate tills and assist pupils during meal times if required
  • Carry out cleaning duties including washing up, sanitising surfaces and maintaining kitchen equipment
  • Work as part of a supportive team to ensure efficient and smooth-running meal service
Requirements
  • Previous catering or kitchen experience
  • Food Hygiene Certificate
  • A positive, can-do attitude with the ability to work under pressure
  • Good communication skills and ability to interact with pupils in a polite, friendly manner
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
  • An enhanced DBS check will be required
