Job summary

A leading housing provider in the UK is seeking a Residential Scheme Manager in Paignton to oversee day-to-day operations of a residential scheme. The incumbent will ensure safety and independence for residents, mainly elderly or vulnerable. Responsibilities include compliance checks, managing resident disputes, and liaising with support agencies. Candidates should have experience working with older individuals, strong communication skills, and a valid driving license. This role also includes a provided flat, making it a unique live-in opportunity.

£15,224 - £15,695 per year

22.5 hours per week

A 2 bedroom flat is provided

We are looking for a Residential Scheme Manager to join our Housing team which consists of Housing Officers and Scheme Managers. The role is in a Leaseholder Scheme within Homeownership. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the scheme ensuring there are no risks to the residents or assets in the scheme.

The role offers an onsite presence and encourages residents who are either elderly or vulnerable to live as independently as possible. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual, who puts the resident first and can work independently using processes to ensure the scheme is well managed and run efficiently.

This role is a live in role as per Term of Lease with a flat provided.

Role of Scheme Manager - Homeownership

The role will include:

  • Completing compliance testing including fire alarm checks and water temp checks
  • Reporting any hazards and supporting the repairs of these to ensure communal areas are kept free
  • Completing weekly wellbeing calls to residents who require this service at the scheme and making safeguarding referrals when required
  • Referring residents to support agencies when required and helping them access the different services available to them
  • Dealing with low level anti-social behaviour complaints within the scheme and resolving resident disputes
Skills and Experiences
  • Experience of working with older people in a support capacity and understanding their individual needs or similar
  • Numeracy and literacy to the equivalent of GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths
  • Excellent knowledge of effective communication at all levels
  • Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
  • Experience of resident involvement and community care values would be an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Occasional travel may be requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
