Project Scheduler

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Scheduler to join a large-scale construction project. The role will involve working closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to create and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring that the project progresses according to the agreed timeline. The Project Scheduler will be responsible for providing insights into the project timeline, identifying potential delays, and recommending strategies to mitigate risks. This is a site-based role with a key focus on managing and optimizing the project schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project)
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information and ensure the schedule is accurate and reflects all project requirements
- Monitor project progress and compare it against the planned schedule, identifying potential delays or issues
- Provide regular progress reports and updates to senior management, stakeholders, and team members
- Analyze schedule deviations and propose corrective actions to keep the project on track
- Facilitate the integration of design, procurement, and construction activities into the project schedule
- Track critical project milestones and ensure timely completion of project deliverables
- Conduct regular meetings with the project team to review the schedule and discuss potential risks, delays, and opportunities for improvement
- Ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain and update project documentation related to scheduling and timeline management
Key Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent)
- Certification in project management or scheduling (e.g., PMP, AACE, PMI-SP) is highly desirable
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project scheduling within the construction or engineering sector
- Experience in managing schedules for large-scale commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects
- Proven track record of working with scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and managing complex timelines
- Experience with project planning, risk management, and change management processes
- Skills:
- Strong proficiency in scheduling software and tools
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to spot potential scheduling issues before they arise
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple aspects of the project schedule simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
