A leading defence contractor in the Bristol area is seeking SC Cleared Military Systems Integration Engineers for a full-time onsite role. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in systems integration and communications engineering, ideally with tactical radios experience. Responsibilities include integrating hardware and software components into military communication systems, supporting system designs, and ensuring successful deployments. Candidates will benefit from initial training in Christchurch before starting in Filton.
We're supporting a leading defence contractor delivering a major new communications programme in the Bristol area. We're seeking SC Cleared Military Systems Integration Engineers to join the team on a long-term assignment.
This role is ideally suited to engineers with experience in systems integration, communication systems engineering, and tactical networking - particularly those who have worked on similar programmes or secure military communications projects.
Integrate hardware and software components into tactical military communication systems.
Support the Solution Architect in defining system and sub-system designs.
Develop and integrate communication systems in line with agreed architectures.
Perform unit testing, debugging, and support verification and validation activities.
Work closely with testers to define appropriate system and acceptance tests.
Collaborate with wider engineering and project teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Strong background in systems integration and communications engineering.
Experience with tactical radios (HF, VHF, UHF, MESH, MANET).
Solid understanding of TCP/IP Networking and MANET-focused comms plans.
Integration and testing of ATAK plugins and applications.
Windows/Linux management systems for provisioning Android devices.
Experience working in an Agile environment (JIRA, Confluence).
Hands-on deployment and troubleshooting experience, ideally in the field.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ex-military background or experience working in a military/secure engineering environment.
Familiarity with JavaScript Object Notation, PowerShell, or Command Prompt Scripting.
Experience contributing to design documentation and technical publications.
Full-time onsite role (Filton, Bristol).
2-3 weeks of initial training/upskilling in Christchurch before starting in Filton.
