Responsibilities

Serving as the primary contact for clients, you will drive sales by identifying and qualifying leads and opportunities. You will work with the proactive sales team to convert events and group leads for the hotel. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key industry partners, including event planners, corporate clients, and agencies to foster long-term relationships, encouraging repeat business, referrals, and positive word-of-mouth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • New Business Development: Proactively identify, win, and grow new direct corporate, Group and M&E business aligned with the hotel’s commercial strategy.
  • Account Management: Develop and manage a portfolio of local and national corporate accounts, driving long-term partnerships and sustainable revenue.
  • Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales office to convert generated leads for groups and meetings. Provide sales support to the Director of Sales.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Deliver regular sales performance reports, track KPIs, and assess progress against targets. Analyze results and adjust strategies to meet objectives.
  • Lead Generation: Conduct research to identify new business opportunities through social media, trade shows, and market analysis. Follow up on lost and denied leads to uncover potential business.
  • Rate negotiation and contract renewal: Support the team in renegotiating annual rate agreements to align with the hotel’s financial goals and KPIs.
  • Commercial Reviews & Strategy: Assist in the creation of consolidated board sales packs and commercial reviews for senior leadership. Help shape sales strategies and business development.
  • Client Hospitality & Engagement: Lead client hospitality initiatives, manage performance trackers, and ensure effective use of sales tools.
  • Representation & Brand Building: Represent the hotel at trade shows and industry events to build the Kimpton Clocktower brand and generate business opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Sales and wider commercial team to convert opportunities and maximise total revenue.
  • Flexibility: The role offers flexible working patterns, with occasional evening or weekend activity linked to client engagement and events, fam trips, or trade shows.
Qualifications

To succeed as our Sales Manager, you will need:

  • A track record of sales achievements with at least 2 years’ experience in the service and hospitality industry.
  • Strong strategic planning skills and the ability to implement plans.
  • Knowledge of market segments such as corporate and conference.
  • Flexibility, minimal supervision, and high standards with attention to detail.
  • Microsoft package skills; Delphi knowledge is desirable.
  • Relevant functional experience and collaboration with other hotel departments.
