The Sales Executive/Business Development Manager role is to join our sales team in the region with flexibility to tailor the role to strengths of the chosen candidate. We can offer either:

  • A full-sales cycle territory role (including both existing customer account management alongside a stretching new business target) OR
  • A 100% new business 'hunting' role.

Either way, you will interact with and develop relationships with high-profile and well-known brands within the wider industrial & e-commerce sectors. You will act as the main contact for your assigned customers and be responsible for delivering solutions that meet their needs. Success will be measured against new customer acquisition, account growth, and gross profit targets. You will proactively identify and capitalize on opportunities to increase sales and profitability using a solution-led sales approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and implement a business plan for the allocated territory to maximize sales, while delivering excellent customer service
  • Adopt a consultative approach with clients to tailor solutions and maintain strong knowledge of all packaging solutions and the full product range
  • Prospect for potential new customers and convert this into increased business
  • Cold call as appropriate within your market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline
  • Meet potential clients, grow and leverage your network
  • Identify potential clients and the decision makers within client companies
  • Research and build relationships with new clients
  • Plan approaches, sales presentations, and pitches
  • Meet yearly and monthly sales targets
  • Maintain strong sales administration including use of CRM (MS Dynamics) to follow up leads and quotes
Qualifications and Profile

We welcome your application if you are an experienced (external) field-based B2B sales professional with a demonstrable track record of new business development and client acquisition. You can be a 'pedigree' BDM or an experienced territory sales account manager who also enjoys new business sales. You will have a consultative and collaborative sales style and must reside on patch within the Northwest region. You should be presentable, polished, intelligent, articulate, commercially aware, goal-oriented, and self-driven. We welcome packaging sector experienced professionals, but non-sector salespeople will also be considered provided transferable skills are evident and they have experience of solution sales.

  • Sector: Packaging distribution & solutions
  • Basic Annual Salary £35,000-£50,000 (dependent on role & experience) plus bonus/commission (scope to earn 100% of salary)
