A respected medical practice in Nottingham is seeking a salaried GP to join a supportive clinical team. In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, thepost-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties,including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, RapidHealth, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptionsand dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion. Makingprofessional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whetherself-referred or referred from other health care workers within theorganisation. The West Park Surgery is an Outstanding CQC rating at theLong Eaton Health Centre site and at the branch site of Park View MedicalCentre. We are a secure, successful and forward looking practice. The GPPartners hold key leadership positions in the PCN and the ICS and can provide awealth of opportunity and experience to other members of the team. The practiceis heavily involved in supporting and developing PCN services across the wholeof Erewash.
We are part of Erewash Health Partnership and have access toa wide range of networked services including home visiting, care home supportteam, pharmacists, social prescribers and first contact physios. We offer allcore services as well as minor surgery and contraceptive services.
Education remains an important part of the ethos of thepractice, and we train registrars, medical students, non-medical prescribers aswell as supporting apprentices from the local community. This culture ofcontinuous improvement and development is core to who we are. Regular clinicalmeetings across both sites, network learning events and an allocated mentormean that we create a safe and supportive environment.
Assessing the health care needs of patients withundifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signsof illness
Developing care plans for health in consultation withpatients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
Providing counselling and health education
Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseloadand referring to other care providers as appropriate
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes toagreed standards
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeatprescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribingformulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertakeall the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working withinprimary care
Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practicepolicies / guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection,health and safety
A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensureevidence-based best practice
Contributing to evaluation / audit and clinical standardsetting within the organisation
Contributing to the development of computer-based patientrecords
Contributing to the summarising of patient records andread-coding patient data
Attending training and events organised by the practice, PCNor other agencies, where appropriate
