Job description

Cheriton Bishop & Teign Valley Practice, part of North Dartmoor Primary Care Network, is seeking a Salaried GP who is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred clinical care and who enjoys working as part of a supportive, collaborative team.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Values excellent, compassionate care
  • Works well within a multidisciplinary team
  • Communicates clearly and thoughtfully
  • Brings a positive attitude—and ideally a sense of humour (always appreciated)

In joining us, you’ll become part of a friendly practice in a beautiful rural setting, where teamwork is genuine, support is readily available, and the occasional light-hearted moment is considered good for everyone’s wellbeing.

We are a 2 site dispensing practice serving approx. 5,500 patients in a rural area. As a high performing practice we have a strong ethos of teamwork and peer support, we use SystmOne and are involved with teaching Registrars, Medical Students and Nurse Students.

The role is for 4 sessions per week, with a view to increasing. These would be worked over 2 days, Thursday and Friday.

You will be joining a small, close-knit practice whose team are supportive and forward thinking. Working with us will mean that you have a dedicated (and fun) clinical and admin team ready and willing to support you with the addition of 2 Physios, a Clinical Pharmacist and an ACP.

Main duties of the job
  • Normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care
  • To take part in clinical auditing and data collection
  • Contribute to QOF & IIF requirements and recording data appropriately
  • Attend team meetings and other clinical meetings as necessary
  • 1 Duty session per week
  • 3 sessions of booked appointments – blend of telephone appointments and face to face
  • Home Visits as required

While patients at the practice are able to consult with any GP, you will be assigned a pro-rata patient list which allows for continuity of care for own patients.

If you’re a GP who combines professionalism with approachability and cares deeply about the patients and community you serve, we would be delighted to hear from you.
