Job description

Job Title: Salaried General Practitioner
Location: Croydon
Salary: Up to £112,500 depending on experience
Hours: 4–8 sessions per week

Overview

This role offers an opportunity for a motivated General Practitioner to work within Croydon’s integrated urgent care system, delivering responsive, same-day clinical care. The GP will join a supportive multidisciplinary team providing assessment and treatment for patients with minor illness and minor injury. Working within a modern hub model, the post holder will contribute to a service designed to improve access, enhance patient outcomes and maintain high standards of primary care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality clinical consultations via face-to-face, telephone and digital modalities, ensuring safe and effective decision-making for patients requiring on-the-day care.
• Participate in the hub rota, covering sessions across extended hours (8am–8pm daily, with some services operating until 10pm), contributing to a consistent and reliable service for the local population.
• Maintain strong clinical governance through involvement in audit, quality monitoring and continuous improvement activities.
• Work collaboratively with clinical leads and management teams to support effective service delivery, uphold regulatory standards and contribute to local quality initiatives.
• Manage clinical administration duties including results handling, medication reviews, documentation and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Uphold professional standards as set by the GMC and maintain a commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care.

Ideal Candidate

• Fully registered with the GMC and on the NHS Performers List.
• Experienced GP with MRCGP or equivalent accreditation.
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to delivering excellent patient care and maintaining high clinical standards.
• Familiarity with primary care systems such as EMIS or SystmOne is advantageous.
• Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working within a fast-paced urgent care environment.
