Job description
Overview

Singleton Construction is seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to lead and oversee day-to-day field operation safety processes. This role is vital in ensuring the safety of Singleton employees, subcontractors, and the safe completion of all construction projects.

The Safety Manager will implement safety policies, oversee training, conduct site audits, and act as the primary point of contact for safety compliance both internally and with external agencies.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety programs and procedures in compliance with OSHA and industry standards.
  • Represent Singleton in safety-related meetings with government agencies and clients.
  • Provide training to Superintendents and employees (OSHA, First Aid, NFPA 70E, equipment safety, etc.).
  • Conduct regular site visits, safety audits, and incident investigations.
  • Maintain OSHA logs, safety documentation, and compliance records.
  • Organize and lead monthly safety meetings and annual trainings.
  • Collaborate with leadership, Superintendents, and subcontractors to uphold a strong safety culture.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Proven ability to build trust and relationships across teams and with external partners.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field (preferred).
  • 3–5 years of occupational health and safety experience in construction or industrial environments preferred.
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction accreditation required; OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) highly preferred.
  • Training in hazardous energy control, fall prevention, trenching/excavating, and hazardous waste.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer.
  • Regular travel to job sites for audits and inspections.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Working Environment

This role is primarily office-based, with regular field visits to job sites. The Safety Manager will balance administrative tasks with on-site responsibilities to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
