IKEA Southampton are looking to welcome three Safety and Security Assistants to the team.

This is an exciting role for someone with good experience in working with others, as you will greet people to the co-worker entrance (co-workers, contractors). As well as this, experience working in a fast-paced role handling administrative and operational tasks to ensure safety for our many customers and co-workers.

Induction will be one-to-one, and can be at a time in January after the holiday/New Year period, to ensure that it best suits you and our team. This can be discussed at interview.

At IKEA, we call this role a Unit Business Risk & Compliance Co-Worker.

What You’ll Need To Have

You will need a mature approach to tasks and good situational awareness whilst working as part of a dynamic team. The ability to assess your environment or situation at any given moment and to think quickly and decisively is essential.

You will work in a methodical manner, with a clear understanding of the sensitivity and confidentiality the role demands, whilst also diligently ensuring that records of incidents, checks and patrols are completed.

This role will be based primarily in the co-worker control room/reception area. This role is largely administrative, working on completing incident reports, as well as checking in contractors and visitors to the store.

Due to Health and Safety, you must be 18 years old or over.

What You’ll Be Doing Day To Day
  • You meet and greet all persons entering the store and maintain visitor, contractors, customers and co-worker access to and from the store.
  • You monitor fire safety and security systems, respond to alarms and initiate emergency response without delay and support the Safety & Security function in store through monitoring and review of CCTV and other security infrastructure.
  • You are responsible for the recording of incidents and accidents; maintaining the Incident Reporting System and assist with Loss Prevention and detection of offenders.
  • You will carry out administrative tasks, including audits, reports, maintaining and filing records and supporting the stores daily operations.
