Job summary

Professional Competencies
  • Excellent administrative skills;
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and a willingness to increase this knowledge;
  • Proven experience and success working with children and/or young adults in a pastoral setting, particularly experience working with vulnerable young people;
  • Patience, tolerance and sensitivity along with a mature and non-judgemental outlook;
  • The ability to work with initiative and meet deadlines;
  • The ability to prioritise and assess emerging issues;
  • A willingness to work flexibly.
Qualifications and Previous Experience
  • Experience and/or training in counselling or listening skills;
  • Previous experience of working within a safeguarding team;
  • A trained Designated Safeguarding Lead (training can be provided if not);
  • Previous experience working with statutory bodies on welfare issues.
