Job description

Applications are invited for the post of Oracle Financial Systems Assistant Analyst, within the recently formed Financial Systems Team in Finance based at Hutton Headquarters.

The Financial Systems Team is a recently created team because we have taken ownership of managing, maintaining & developing our own Financial System. This has opened a vast range of development opportunities in the Finance Team to develop skills in ICT including using Microsoft Excel to analyse data using formulas and create Pivot tables and writing Macros using Visual Basic for Applications. As well as learning to programme using SQL to help you use Oracle Developer & Blitz Reporting to query the database and create reports.

All in all, Oracle is one big puzzle. If you are a methodical thinker, like problem solving, can think outside the box, produce new ideas, and would like to develop your skills in finance or see yourself as a software developer then the Financial Systems Team is a good place to be.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with system provider in respect of user system issues and Constabulary requirements where necessary.
  • Investigate and resolve system issues across all ORACLE Modules including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cash Management, Debt Collection, Procurement, I Procurement, Systems Administration and Fixed Asset.
  • Provide a system admin role ensuring accuracy and quality assurance of functions and activities within each of the modules outlined above.
  • Produce and quality assure management information and statistical data in response to internal and external requirements. This will involve the extraction of data from Oracle or associated systems using standard and ad hoc reporting methods and the processing of this data using Microsoft Excel and Oracle SQL.
  • Assist the review Oracle Financials System functionality / procedures in response to new legislation, statutory requirements or Force policy.

Please be aware there is a minimum 3 year UK residency requirement for Recruitment vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Please note, candidates successful at shortlisting will be required to undertake an assessment as part of the interview process. This will consist of an Excel test.
