Main duties of the job
  • No budget or managerial responsibilities; progress to supervise and appraise less experienced therapists, support workers and undergraduates under the guidance of the team leader.
  • Progress to take on increasing responsibility for day‑to‑day management of the clinical area in the absence of more senior staff.
  • Supervised by a named therapist; clinical and professional supervision through regular reasoning sessions, observed practice, peer review and formal training. Access to advice and support from specialist therapists as required.

  • Deliver therapeutic interventions using the principles of Physiotherapy in an integrated and client‑centred way supported by the Therapy Competency Framework.
  • Work within the Therapy team to provide an effective, evidence‑based service through assessment, planning and implementation of treatment programmes.

Person Specification
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbal, non‑verbal and written, when interacting with team members, clients and other professionals.
  • Work flexibly in response to the changing demands of the service.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely and accurately when conveying written information.
  • Manage own workload and prioritise appropriately.
  • Experience of working in the NHS in the UK.
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and interest in working for the Trust.
