Job summary

A healthcare provider in Liverpool is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join their team. This position offers the chance to gain diverse experience in both clinical and technical services. Applicants are welcome from newly qualified technicians and those pending NVQ 3 qualification. The role includes contributions to a weekend pharmacy service and participation in training programs. Mersey Care offers specialist inpatient and community services that support physical and mental health and specialist inpatient mental health, learning disability, addiction and brain injury services. We are currently delivering a programme of organisational and service transformation to significantly improve the quality of the services we provide and safely reduce cost as we do so. Role and Responsibilities
  • Rotational role giving opportunities to gain experience across inpatient clinical and technical services.
  • Work in a supportive environment with training and skills development to support career progression.
  • Provide training required to develop within the role, including final accuracy checking of dispensed prescriptions when trained.
  • Participate in comprehensive in-house medicines reconciliation training; complete accurate drug histories and medicines reconciliation of patients' medication and assess medicines for usability at ward level.
  • Contribute to the provision of a seven-day pharmacy service, including a rota for weekends and bank holidays.
  • Engage with digital transformation initiatives within the department.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous experience of working as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or community pharmacy setting is preferred, but not essential.
  • Applications welcome from newly qualified pharmacy technicians or from those who are due to qualify and join the GPhC register as a pharmacy technician.
  • We invite applicants with pending qualification/completion of NVQ 3 training.
