Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for Band 5 Occupational Therapists to work in a large and supportive team committed to providing a high quality service. We have an established Band 5 Occupational Therapy support group facilitated by a Senior Occupational Therapist where you can receive peer support and learning opportunities.

This post presents an excellent opportunity to develop new skills across a variety of settings. As a service we are committed to providing regular formal supervision, CPD opportunities and annual appraisals.

Rotations can include medical, stroke, orthopaedics, community resource team, paediatrics, falls prevention, pulmonary rehabilitation, community hospitals, acute adult and older persons Mental Health service and Community Mental Health teams. We regularly review the rotations available and seek to add new opportunities as able. The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner following professional codes of conduct and ethics carrying a varied caseload which can include patients with complex needs with additional supervision.

Clinical activities can take place in a wide range of settings including hospital, clinic and community settings, and patients own homes.

The post holder will provide supervision to Occupational Therapy support workers and may provide guidance and support to support workers from another discipline. In addition, the post holder will support the learning and development of others including new staff and students.

The post holder will contribute to service developments within their department which can include attending meetings and participation in audit, service evaluation and researching evidence based practice.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
