A leading healthcare provider in Eastbourne is looking for a dedicated Rheumatology Specialist Nurse to join their team. You will assess and monitor patients with inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, managing treatment and ensuring continuity of care across clinics. The role requires excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. An appropriate nursing qualification and experience with Rheumatology are desirable. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic registered nurse to join the Rheumatology Team, working across site as a Specialist Nurse alongside the Rheumatology Consultants and lead Nurse Specialist. The post holder will be responsible for assessing patients Rheumatological conditions including eligibility for DMARD and Biologic treatments to control their inflammatory arthritis and then monitoring the efficacy ongoing. They will also ensure that blood monitoring is carried out in a timely manner to ensure treatment is not interrupted. Providing a liaison between outpatient's clinics, day unit therapy, external homecare providers and primary care ensuring continuity of care for their patients. Attending MDM for educational development and supporting the telephone advice line. The post holder will be based at Eastbourne but will be expected to work cross site if necessary.
Rheumatology Specialist Nurse - The post holder will play a key role in the care of people with inflammatory and autoimmune musculoskeletal conditions. They will be responsible for assessing and monitoring patients disease activity, managing flares and ongoing follow up care. They will undertake outpatient clinics, requesting and reviewing blood tests and investigations (within scope) and assess and monitor treatments including DMARD and biologics. Providing a liaison between outpatients clinics, day unit therapy, external homecare providers and primary care ensuring continuity of care for patients. Attending MDM for educational development and supporting the telephone advice line. The post holder will maintain accurate documentation and records. Keep up to date with evidence based practice and adhere to professional standards, policies and governance frameworks.

We are seeking a dynamic and forward thinking RGN with some experience of managing a specialised service to patients with inflammatory arthritic conditions. You will be expected to have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work both independently and within a team. Ideally you will have education to degree level and evidence of continuing professional practice. Experience of the complexities of rheumatological conditions would be an advantage.
