The Off-sales Retail Manager will be responsible for the financial success and smooth operation of the business in the world-renowned Borough Market. Working with Utobeer’s General Manager, you will be responsible for the development of the business.
Requirements
- Have a strong all-round knowledge of beer and the industry
- Have good communication and arithmetic skills
- Exceptional leadership skills gained in either a retail, hospitality or customer service role
- Identifying KRAs and use initiative to ensure they are always met
- Ability to motivate and develop team members
- Results-orientated attitude
- Excellent personal management and communication skills
- Ability to understand P&L reports
Stock
- Selection and ordering of stock from established suppliers, also to establish new relationships with new wholesale businesses, also controlling the budget
- Control of delivery and storage of stock
- The maintenance of stock with regards to the likes of best before dates and other quality control issues
- Working with the senior management to order, price and control stock for all forms of draft sales, including all technical aspects including gas and line cleaning
Commercial
- The pricing of stock in conjunction with Utobeer policy and other agreed pricing strategies
- To ensure that there are controls in place to ensure that card transactions are correctly controlled
- To look for opportunities to expand commercial options
Marketing
- Social media planning to ensure that social media is used to its best effect, i.e. Twitter, Facebook and website
- Visual marketing for events and promotions
- Assist with other Utobeer and Borough Market events
Staff
- To employ, train, develop and manage all staff working on the drinks cage
- To ensure that they are compliant with all regulations as required
- Be willing to take on jobs to balance the team workload
- Be able to communicate well with people of all levels
- To liaise with Utobeer’s management team over all matters
- To liaise with Borough Market and other traders as required, including attending monthly trader meetings
- To liaise with associated bodies such as health and safety, pest control and licensing
