The successful individual will become part of a dynamic, busy, and tight-knit team working on a range of mid-market, high quality work encompassing transactional, advisory, and contentious restructuring matters. The focus of the workload will be on transactional restructuring matters and can accommodate individuals who do not have contentious exposure.

Clients include entrepreneurial early-stage businesses and their investors, national and international brands, as well as established insolvency practitioners.

Responsibilities

The successful individual will work closely with a Partner, with supervision on hand as required. The role focuses on transactional restructuring matters, with potential exposure to advisory and some contentious work.

Qualifications
  • Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales, or another commonwealth jurisdiction (for example, Australia or New Zealand) with relevant UK based restructuring experience;
  • Upwards of 2 years' experience in advising on restructuring matters;
  • Recent experience gained within firms focusing on mid-market restructuring work;
  • Experience in advising on distressed transactions and advisory situations across the restructuring and formal insolvency process spectrum;
  • A confidence and competence in working for insolvency and turnaround practitioners, debtors and creditors in distressed scenarios;
  • Exceptional technical legal knowledge;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Familiarity with and willingness to get involved in banking and debt finance matters handled within the wider team would be a real advantage, but is not a prerequisite.
Working pattern

The team operates on a hybrid basis, with 2-3 days per week required in their London office. The firm is open to considering individuals looking for a full time or part time commitment, and can engage individuals either on a pro rata annual salary or a daily rate (inside IR35).
