A healthcare provider in Stockport seeks an experienced band 6 respiratory nurse. The successful candidate will provide specialist clinical support, ensure timely care for COPD patients, and mentor junior staff. You must have NMC registration and relevant nursing experience, along with strong organisational and teaching skills. This permanent role is full-time at 37.5 hours per week, offering competitive benefits including annual leave and an NHS pension scheme.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the existing Respiratory Nurse Team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking to recruit a band 6 nurse with a keen interest in Respiratory Medicine.
As a respiratory nursing team it is expected we are able to support the whole spectrum of non‑malignant respiratory disease, including but not limited to Asthma, COPD, Pulmonary Vascular Disease, Tuberculosis, Bronchiectasis, Pleural Disease, Interstitial Lung Disease, Sleep medicine and Chronic Respiratory Failure.
Whilst no one specialist nurse can be an expert in all areas it would be expected that all team members proactively develop subspecialty skill sets in one or more of these disease groups, to allow the nursing team as a whole to contain the skills necessary to support our consultant colleagues in the management of the full spectrum of respiratory disease afflicting our patient community.
This specialist role will support the organisation in the delivery of care for respiratory patients and their families, in accordance with the philosophy and standards of care within the specialty, ensuring that Trust values and beliefs are upheld.
This role will look to suit a motivated, enthusiastic individual. The ideal candidate must demonstrate their ability to work under pressure, be adaptable to change and thrive in an environment with a varied workload.
This position is a permanent role at 37.5 hours per day.
We hold a unique position in the Stockport community as the provider of healthcare and we are one of its largest employers.
We believe that the best organisations are those that reflect the communities they serve. We are therefore seeking to improve the diversity of our workforce to make it truly representative of our local population.
We actively encourage applications irrespective of race, age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion or belief, marriage and civil partnership, or pregnancy or maternity. Recognising those communities that are underrepresented within our workforce, we would particularly welcome applications from you.
If you require support with your application please contact a member of the recruitment team, who can discuss alternative application methods.
We recognise that flexible working is important. We take requests for flexible working seriously, consider any request we receive and try to work with you, so we can explore if your request may fit with the needs of the service.
