A local social care provider in Ebbw Vale is seeking a Residential Support Worker to provide care and support for children and young people. This permanent, full-time role requires a QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care and experience in a residential children's home. Residential Support Worker - Children and Young People

Brook Street Social Care - Ebbw Vale

Salary: £35,165 per annum • Hours: 24-hour shift rota (including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays) • Location: Ebbw Vale • Contract: Permanent, full-time

Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day care and support to young people in the home
  • Act as a positive role model, offering guidance and emotional support
  • Deliver safe, high-quality care as part of an integrated care team
  • Support education, life skills, and personal development
  • Maintain accurate records, care plans, risk assessments, and reports
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and care regulations
  • Engage with external professionals, families, and the local community
Essential Requirements
  • QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People)
  • Minimum 2 years\' experience in a registered residential children\'s home
  • Experience supporting young people with EBD, CSE, self-harm, attachment disorders, and challenging behaviours
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment, and key working
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Registered with Social Care Wales and on the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Update Service
  • IT literate (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel)
