Our Residential Care Support Workers transform lives by applying a restorative approach to achieve the best outcomes for children in our care. We are looking for compassionate, resilient individuals who can work across three homes in Sutton. The role offers flexible hours, fully funded NVQ Level 3 health and social care training, and out‑of‑hours payments where applicable.
Responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day safe and secure care of children at our residential homes.
- Keep the children engaged through fun, enriching activities in a safe and inclusive environment.
- Support children with their social, emotional development and educational achievement, setting boundaries and bringing consistency as a trusted relationship.
- Apply a restorative practice and trauma‑informed model, helping children to make sense of their backgrounds and find a positive way forward.
- Work flexibly as part of a varied shift pattern, including late afternoon, evenings, weekends and sleep‑in duties.
- Innovate and creatively engage young people to continually explore new ways of achieving positive outcomes.
- Attend to whole‑person care, including therapeutic support within an integrated youth services framework.
Qualifications and Training
- Experience working with children or young people in a residential setting is desirable.
- Willingness and skill to communicate creatively with young people.
- Undergo Restorative Practice and Trauma‑Informed Practice training (fully supported).
- Full NVQ Level 3 in health and social care will be studied on the job.
