Job description
Research Associate / Fellow (Fixed-Term) (MED274725)

The purpose of this role will be to have specific responsibility for research, for developing research objectives and proposals for a research project in cardiovascular disease. You will be expected to plan and conduct work using approaches or methodologies and techniques appropriate to the type of research, and will be responsible for writing up work for publication. You will ideally have experience with endothelial cell assays, monocyte isolation from human blood, flow cytometry, measurement of cytokine by ELISA and immunoblotting, handling of material in at least class 2, preferably CL3 laboratory, immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy and high quality RNA extraction from human primary cells.

You will join an established team whose main areas of research interest include angiogenesis in cardiovascular disease and alternative splicing.

You will have the opportunity to use your initiative and creativity to identify areas for research, develop research methods and extend your research portfolio.
