We’re currently looking for a Repairs Surveyor to join our Assets team and play a crucial role in the delivery of high-quality repairs, voids, and major works. What you’ll be doing

This role is central to the maintenance and improvement of our housing stock. You’ll be responsible for :

  • Carrying out pre and post inspections for repairs and voids using tools like iAuditor and photometers
  • Preparing specifications and tender / contract documentation for major and responsive works
  • Managing contractor relationships and ensuring delivery against budget and performance expectations
  • Overseeing compliance with Health & Safety requirements, including contractor audits and inspections
  • Leading customer-focused projects and delivering excellent service throughout
  • Carrying out mutual exchange inspections, health & safety audits, and post-void inspections
  • Managing complaints, legal disrepair cases, and external enquiries (e.g., MPs, EHOs) from start to finish
  • Supporting the wider team to maintain high performance standards across all services
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and communicating with internal teams and external agencies
  • Participating in our Out of hours rota, covering approximately 23 weeks per year (on call from Monday 5pm to the following Monday 9am)
What we’re looking for

We’re seeking someone who brings technical skill, proactive thinking, and a customer-first approach. Ideally, you’ll bring :

  • A qualification at minimum HNC level, or equivalent experience in construction or maintenance
  • In-depth knowledge of housing maintenance, defect diagnosis, and repair specification
  • Experience using property management systems (e.g., Northgate or similar)
  • Confidence in managing contractor performance and ensuring work is completed to standard
  • Strong communication skills with residents, colleagues, and external partners
  • Experience in contract administration, scheduling works, and managing projects end‑to‑end
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and a proactive approach to risk management
  • A commitment to high‑quality service delivery and continuous improvement

So why do we need to know this information? This role will be required to visit / support PA Housing residents in their own homes on a regular basis. Therefore we have a duty to our residents to ensure that we have taken precautions regarding who will be visiting them and representing PA Housing.
