Job summary

A prominent NHS Trust in the UK is seeking a Financial Management Assistant to support the production of management accounts and provide financial advice to operational managers. The role includes reviewing budgets, preparing financial reports, and maintaining financial integrity within the Trust. The ideal candidate will have GCSEs in Maths and English, as well as AAT Level 3/4 qualifications. The Trust offers flexible working, training support, and a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs including Maths & English are mandatory.
  • AAT Level 3 or 4 certification, or equivalent qualification required.
  • Experience with financial accounting systems is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Produce monthly management accounts and provide sound financial advice.
  • Review actual income and expenditure within the Trust ledger.
  • Prepare and input journals and accruals for management accounts.
  • Hold meetings with budget holders and managers independently.
  • Support timely reporting and recovery of income.

Skills

Experience of working in a similar environment
Financial accounting systems and procedures knowledge
IT Skills
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Ability to use own initiative and work as a team member
NHS Finance Experience

Education

5 GCSEs passes or equivalent including Maths & English
AAT Certification Level 3 and/or Level 4
