Job summary

A local care provider is hiring in Enniskillen for a role focused on delivering high-quality care to individuals facing mental health challenges. Responsibilities include building supportive relationships, maintaining a safe environment, and helping users manage their wellbeing. Candidates should have a relevant Level 2 qualification in care or at least 12 months of experience. Flexibility in working hours is essential, and a valid driving license is required. This is a permanent position offering £13.47 per hour.

Job description

The main function of the role is to provide the highest possible standard of care and support to the people who use our services by actively promoting and implementing Recovery by using a strengths based person centred approach.Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a trusting and professional relationship with the people who use our services and act in a supportive and empathetic manner towards them.
  • Contribute to and help maintain a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
  • Support the people who use our services to manage their mental health, physical health and wellbeing through the development, implementation and monitoring of individual wellbeing and safety management plans.
  • Actively encourage the involvement of the people who use our services in all aspects of decision-making, be sensitive and seek solutions to difficulties encountered by the people who use our services.
  • Deliver care and support within the context of a social inclusion and recovery approach which is designed to work with people to find and maintain hope, re-establish a positive identity, build a meaningful life and take responsibility and control.
Skills and Qualifications
  • To be flexible and work such hours as required by the post in order to meet the needs of the service.
  • Be educated to QCF/NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in a related subject e.g. Care and 6 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
  • Or A minimum of 12 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
  • Have proven experience of motivating, supporting and mentoring Service Users.
  • Experience of maintaining service user and agency records.
  • A full current driving licence and access to a car. Business insurance will be a requirement of this post. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence.
  • Working knowledge of using IT systems.

Many of our participants are not actively linked into formal services, some are self-referred, others come via GPs or partner agencies.
