Overview

Job title: Relief Shift Manager (Nights)

Reports to: Night Shift Manager

Hourly Rate: £17.60 per hour

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday - 22:00 to 06:00

Ornua is actively seeking a Shift Manager to join Ornua Ingredients UK as we continue our growth trajectory.

Responsibilities
  • Fully run the shift in the absence of the Shift Manager, attend meetings and take actions.
  • Complete daily shift reports.
  • Carry out Return-to-Work (RTW) and informal/disciplinary hearings.
  • Investigate and manage work-related accidents.
  • Lead the development of improvements and line effectiveness of operations and production through cross-functional collaboration, performance improvement initiatives, and development of operational processes.
  • Ensure all employees adhere to Quality, Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and procedures; drive near-miss and good-catch reporting.
  • Ensure paperwork records production activity accurately.
  • Monitor and drive quality, hygiene and GMP KPIs.
  • Monitor production lines for faults and improvements; report to the Shift Manager/Engineer as required and capture in Redzone.
  • Monitor and drive production output against daily planned targets.
  • Ensure routine quality checks are performed and policies/procedures are followed.
  • Raise non-conformances and close them out in a timely manner.
  • Work with the Shift Manager and Site Trainer to induct new staff and train all staff; identify gaps in training and upskill requirements.
  • Conduct material area checks and investigate variances.
  • Attend and investigate daily material variances meetings.
  • Lead daily huddles on lines.
  • Control labour/skills using the shift planned rota; provide cover as required.

What You Bring To The Role
  • Food Hygiene Level 2, preferably Level 3
  • Leadership experience within a food manufacturing environment
  • People management experience with recruiting, managing, motivating and training staff
  • In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety and Technical legislation/procedures/SOPs
  • Demonstrated level of spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of MS Office and food manufacturing software (e.g. M3, Redzone)
