Overview

Join us as a Regulatory Controls Manager where you will be responsible for ensuring effective governance of Internal supplier risks and supporting regulatory change initiatives.

To be successful Regulatory Controls Manager, you should be:

  • Proactive, with a delivery mindset, taking personal responsibility for deliverables and willing to learn.
  • Experienced in meeting challenging deadlines set by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experienced in supporting delivery of change initiatives, particularly those arising from regulatory developments.
  • Able to perform detailed analysis using data and information to inform problem solving and solution development.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with colleagues at all levels, including drafting and presenting materials for senior management e.g. briefings decks, progress reports, project plans.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Knowledge of UK and international Banking Reform legislation and regulations.
  • Knowledge and experience of structuring and restructuring exercises.
  • Knowledge of Barclays, its operations and internal structures.
  • Knowledge of Barclays risk management frameworks.

This role will be based out of Glasgow.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and consult on the bank’s internal controls framework and supporting policies and standards across the organisation, ensuring it is robust, effective, and aligned to the bank’s overall strategy and risk appetite.

Accountabilities
  • Identification and analysis of emerging and evolving risks across functions to understand their potential impact, and likelihood.
  • Communication of the purpose, structure, and importance of the control framework to all relevant stakeholders, including senior management and audit.
  • Support to the development and implementation of the bank's internal controls framework and principles tailored to the banks specific needs and risk profile including design, monitoring, and reporting initiatives.
  • Monitoring and maintenance of the control's frameworks, to ensure compliance and adjust and update as internal and external requirements change.
  • Embedment of the control framework across the bank through cross collaboration, training sessions and awareness campaigns which fosters a culture of knowledge sharing and improvement in risk management and the importance of internal control effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
