Applicants should be qualified and have experience in veterinary nursing. Benefits include competitive salary, enhanced wellbeing policies, and opportunities for professional development.
We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Holly House Vets. We have 4 practices in the Leeds postcode area, 3 in North Leeds and one in Ilkley. You will split your time between our Hospital in Moor Town and our two nearby branches, one of which is exotics focused.
The role will work across surgical, medical, emergency and exotics departments (no regular night work). Duties include consulting, client care, general anaesthesia for routine and complex procedures, surgical nursing, triage, routine and complex inpatient care, and running diagnostic tests (lab/radiography/CT) across a range of species (cats/dogs/rabbits/reptiles/birds/small mammals).
As a general practice with mid-tier referral services, we are proud to have certificate-holder-led departments in surgery, medicine, behaviour, dentistry, and exotics. Our varied caseload allows us to work up cases to a high standard, and this is an excellent opportunity to advance your referral nursing career. You\'ll benefit from access to cutting-edge diagnostic tools such as CT, X-ray, ultrasound, laparoscopy, and endoscopy across our fully-equipped practices. Our facilities include purpose-built consulting rooms, an isolation ward, and a spacious prep/theatre suite. We use multiparameter monitoring for anaesthesia and a ventilator to ensure the highest standard of care.
Our team consists of 19 vets, 19 RVNs (including our dedicated night nurse team), 6 SVNs, 6 VCAs, and 10 receptionists, all working together to provide 24-hour care at our hospital, general practice clinics, and exotics-only practice. With 30 years of experience, we offer a range of annual team events, regular practice meetings, and one-on-one career development and professional coaching for all staff. We also hold regular Schwartz Rounds to reflect on the emotional and social aspects of care.
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week between Monday-Sunday on a rota basis, with 1 in 6 weekends and a share of bank holiday shifts.
We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will benefit from:
