We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our fantastic team at Medivet Colchester Maldon Road — and we’d love to hear from you!

Our practice is well-established with a loyal and long-standing client base. We pride ourselves on our friendly and supportive environment, where every team member plays a key role in delivering outstanding patient and client care. You’ll be joining a close-knit team that includes experienced vets, a patient care assistant, and a welcoming front-of-house team.

The practice is equipped with three consult rooms, separate cat and dog wards, a fully equipped theatre with two operating tables, a prep room, in-house lab, digital X-ray, and ultrasound — giving you everything you need to perform your role to a high clinical standard.

We’re part of a collaborative local network of Medivet practices in the Colchester region, where knowledge sharing and team support are at the heart of what we do.

Role Accountabilities

Exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do at Medivet. That’s the care for our patients, our clients and for each other – we really want to make a positive difference through every interaction we have.
In this role you will:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.

  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.

  • Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.

  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.

  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.

  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.

  • Dispense and check medication.

  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.

  • Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.

  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.

  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.

  • Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.

  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
