Job description

We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team at Medivet Llanishen Cat Clinic in Cardiff on a part time basis. This is a cat‑only practice set in a lovely building, supported by Branch Partner, Lois has PhD Cardiology and Feline Internal Medicine certificate, a Veterinary Surgeon, HRVN, RVN, and two Receptionists. You’ll enjoy working as part of a close‑knit team with a loyal client base who truly value the care we provide for their pets.

Llanishen Cat Clinic is well‑equipped to support high standards of care, with facilities including Digital X‑ray and Adaptix 3D X‑ray for orthopaedics and dental imaging, Ultrasound with pulsed wave and colour Doppler, multi‑parameter anaesthetic monitoring, cryotherapy and radioactive iodine unit, in‑house IDEXX lab suite (Procyte Dx, Catalyst One, Sedivue) and oxygen unit, incubator and Burtons VETair2 Dental Unit.

This role is working 30 hours per week plus 1 in 3 Saturdays and working in the RAI unit. The salary would be between £22,500 and £23,625 per year.

Role Accountabilities

• Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
• Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre‑ and post‑procedure activity.
• Carry out nurse‑led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
• Deliver patient monitoring and care.
• Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
• Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
• Dispense and check medication.
• Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
• Hold briefings to engage and co‑ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience

• RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
• Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
• Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
• Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
