Overview
As part of a wider nursing recruitment drive for the Emergency Department (ED) in Prince Charles Hospital (PCH) an exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 5 Registered Nurses to join our ED. The Emergency Department at Prince Charles Hospital is a designated Trauma Unit and is a busy department within a large district general hospital. The unit consists of a dedicated paediatric unit, minor injuries unit, majors areas, ambulatory care unit and an adult and paediatric resuscitation area. The department is undergoing a clinical model and workforce modernisation review and this is an exciting time to come and join our innovative team.

Responsibilities
- Recruitment relates to Band 5 Registered Nurses with experience of caring for patients with acute and life threatening illness or injury who are able to assess and plan care for patients who attend ED.
- Act independently within the UHB and professional guidelines; contribute to the ED’s clinical model and modernisation efforts.
- Support ongoing development by the Emergency Department Senior Nurse and Senior Nurse for Professional Development.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Band 5 Registered Nurse with experience in acute/trauma or emergency care.
- Ability to assess and plan care for patients attending ED.
- Applicants must meet necessary checks: Disclosure and Barring Service check and, where required, Professional Registration verification.
- Applicants who are not UK or Republic of Ireland nationals will require sponsorship to obtain a Health and Care Visa or a Skilled Worker Visa unless they have another eligible right to work.
- Welsh language: Desirable but not essential; basic Speaking & Listening at Level 3 (CEFR B2) or above is advantageous.
