Overview

You will receive a comprehensive induction with our dedicated Practice Development team. You will then be supported to achieve all your clinical competencies to enable you to work independently within the unit.

Responsibilities

• Deliver all therapies required by our patients. If you do not already possess these skills then training will be provided with the opportunity to succeed in this role, including the possibility to complete the SACT module (APPS which is accredited by the University of Gloucestershire).
• Work with the Edward Jenner Unit nursing team who collaborate with Haematology consultants, Clinical Nurse Specialists, administration and clerical staff to provide outstanding care to our patients.
• Ensure patients are involved in decisions about their care to provide a positive experience for appointments and treatments.
• Contribute to a safe, caring, comfortable environment for patients.
• Support the Edward Jenner Unit, a busy day care unit based at Gloucester Royal Hospital, open Monday to Friday 08:00–19:00.
• Provide care and treatment for Haematology patients and deliver a range of treatments including: administration of Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT), immunoglobulins and blood products; venesection and bone marrow biopsy; SACT outpatient clinic reviews; CVC line care and patient support.

Edward Jenner Unit is a busy day care unit based at Gloucester Royal Hospital. It is open Monday - Friday between 08:00-19:00. We provide care and treatment for Haematology patients and deliver a range of treatments including;
