A leading healthcare provider in York is seeking an enthusiastic Band 5 nurse to join their dynamic surgical team. The role involves assessing patient care needs, ensuring high standards of nursing care, and working closely with a multidisciplinary team. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in nursing, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and exhibit excellent communication skills. We are looking to employ an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 5 to complement our existing team. The elective surgical units support a wide variety of surgical disciplines including general surgery, urology, ENT, maxillofacial, chronic pain services, orthopaedic trauma, gynaecology, ophthalmology and work closely with the preassessment team, surgical teams, anaesthetic teams, theatres and surgical wards.
The post holder will work in partnership with the Ward / Department Sister to ensure that the standards of nursing care are met at all times. This includes assisting the ward / department Sister and the whole team to meet the agreed standards of hospital cleanliness within the work environment.
